Willie Roy Taylor Sr.

Willie Roy Taylor Sr. passed this life April 2, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign IL. Willie was born in Warrington G.A to Leroy Taylor and Jessie Lou Ivey. Willie lived in Georgia as a child and moved to Sharon P.A as a teenager where he met his wife Barbara Taylor. They moved their family to Danville IL. in 1983. Here Willie started his career at American Pavilion/American Event Services where he was a valued employee. Willie worked there for 38 years until the lord called him home.

Willie was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed playing pool, watching wrestling, and maintaining his yard, but Willies most passionate pass time was being with his family. From the beginning of his day until the end his purpose was to provide, protect, and guide. He defiantly understood the assignment. He will be remembered most as a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory to his loving wife Barbara Taylor and his children; Yolanda Jackson (Sharon PA), Nekisha Wilson (Houston TX), Cedrick Wilson (Sharon PA), Willie R. Taylor Jr. (Danville IL). Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Three brothers; Jessie Taylor, Leroy Taylor, Micheal Taylor. Two sisters; Minnie Taylor, Shirley, and Roy all from Sharon PA. He leaves a very special brother in law Micheal Roberson, two bonus children who held a special place in his heart Joshua Moore, Tamara Jimson, and a very special sister in law Terry Caldwell. He leaves two special friends Robert Rouse, and Allen Haskins, as well as a host of family, friends, and colleagues.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Jerry Taylor, Hessie Taylor, James Taylor, Willie James Taylor, and one grandchild Ja’Kobe LaShawn Taylor.

Willie leaves his loved ones with a legacy of family and unity. In his famous words “We all we got”. He will be greatly missed.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 9, 2022 at Tabernacle of Praise 610 Robinson St, Danville. A visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Springhill Cemetery.
