William Lamont Batiste was born on August 15, 1963 to the union of Darnella & William Batiste Sr. in
Chicago, Illinois.
He attended Mahalia Jackson Elementary School and later attended Waukegan High School- West Campus. There he participated in Track & Field, football, and was granted the opportunity to become the school mascot. At a young age William enjoyed making people laugh with his infectious spirit and sense of humor. This carried over to his adult years alongside with his contagious personality. William had a religious side, attending church often as a child, he grew to have a personal relationship with the lord and later accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He loved to work on cars, a trait in which he inherited from his father at a very young age. He often performed car maintenance for those in need. Often at no charge. He carried a smile that would light up any room. Outside of his love for working on cars, he always loved to dress. He was very stylish with wide selection of clothes with shoes to match. But more than anything, he loved his family.
William departed this life on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Champaign, Illinois. He was proceeded in death by his father William Batiste Sr., his brother Tramain Batiste. By his paternal and maternal grandparents Thelma & George Qualls, Sam & Rosie Batiste. Two aunts Roz & Beverly Qualls. And one uncle Ronald Qualls. One best friend Kenneth Porter.
He leaves to cherish his living memory: his mother Darnella Batiste of Danville, Illinois. Three children, Travis of Danville, Illinois, William (Elizabeth) Bevly and Ayashia Bevly of Zion, Illinois.
Six grandchildren, Elijah Cobb, Aiden Bevly, Braylin Reynolds, Landon Bevly, Breyon Reynolds and, Brave Reynolds. Two sisters, Bonita Barber and Sharon Lopez. One brolther Keith Batiste. His close friends, Cortez Brown, Herman Foreman, Vince Beard, Pastor Leopold Davis. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon on September 27, 2021 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
