Wardiene Joiner was born on August 26, 1944, to the late Willie and Emma Joiner in Leland, MS. She transitioned into the light of our Creator on April 9, 2025, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Wardiene enjoyed cooking, music, planting flowers, and talking to family and friends. She also loved sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful gifts of nature that our Creator showered us with abundantly. Wardiene Joiner was very outspoken, sharp, and loving with her words.
As a Strong Black Woman, she moved from Mississippi to Saginaw, MI. In 1959, her sister Juanita Jackson called on her sister Wardiene Joiner, and she found a new journey in Saginaw, MI. With limited education, Wardiene Joiner landed a job at General Motors in 1974, where she retired in 2001.
Wardiene leaves behind concrete footprints of memories that her three children will hold, William Lowrey of Kenosha WI, Bernard Joiner of Rantoul, IL and Jermaine Erwin of Milwaukee, WI; four grandchildren, William Lowrey Jr. (Jr), Marissa Lowery (Sweet Thang), Demetrious Joiner, and Trevion Joiner; five great-grandchildren, Aliana Lowrey (Ali), Trenton Lowrey (Trent), Armanni Lowrey, Allana Parks, Allayah Parks and, so many other family and friends.
She was preceded in peace by her mother, Emma Joiner; father, Willie Joiner; son, Ryan Joiner; grandson, Ryan Joiner Jr. (Toote); five sisters, Cristean Thompson, Herine Ratliff, Marie Atkins, Lucille Martin, and Juanita Jackson; five Brothers, Rev. Julius Joiner, Sr., Roosevelt Henderson, Henry Joiner, Willie Joiner and James Earl Joiner.
Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch. Sleep on angel, you will be missed.
