Virgie Mae Davis

January 9, 1944 – November 21, 2020

Virgie Mae Davis transitioned away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home.  Virgie Mae was born to the late Virgie Lee King (Talbert) and Anderson Lee King on January 9, 1944 in Turrell, Arkansas, as a young child her family relocated to Danville, Illinois.  Virgie Mae leaves to cherish her fond memories, her Children, Gail (John) Moore, Roger Allen, Clifford (Aishah) Allen, Damon (Tanea) King and Lalita (Pastor Ricky) Hoskins. Her Sister Birdia (Marcel) Cleave, 17 Grand-children, 22 Great-grand Children, a special Sister-in-law Ethel Marie King and a god daughter Kenya Crider.

Virgie Mae truly loved all of her Children and Grand-children, she had a host of Nieces and Nephews that she adored!   As a child Virgie Mae was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, then later in life she joined the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church where she was a current faithful member, she loved singing, she sung in the senior choir until her health began to fail.

Virgie was a home-maker, she also worked at several local hotels throughout the City, she attended Danville public schools. Virgie enjoyed cooking for others, her pass-time hobbies included fishing and playing spades with her family.

Virgie Mae was preceded in death by her husband Williams Franklin Davis, both parents, a Son John Felix Pascal, Sister Christine Cooper, Brothers Henry King, James King, Major King and Anderson King, Grand-daughter Antone’, Nieces Shirley and Estelle, Nephew Darrin, very special friends Audrey Beard and Dorothy Reed.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence 12noon Monday, November 30, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville.  Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the time of service.  A public viewing will be held 1-5PM Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Funeral Home. Officiating: Pastor Courtney Watson.

Due to CDC regulations, Attendance restrictions will be enforced.
