U.T. Smith

U.T. Smith was born on June 12, 1966 to Rosie Lee Smith and M.B. Smith Sr. in Hollandale, Mississippi.
U.T. lived in Champaign where he resided for most of his life. He attended Champaign Central High School and upon graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force in Spokane, Washington.
Returning home from the Air Force, U.T. worked at a local Cham- paign, Illinois Company. He also worked as a custodian.
He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Brandon Smith of Portland, OR, Jamar (Chelbrie) Smith of Urbana, IL, and Kami Smith of Urbana, IL; two brothers, Melvin (Rhonda) Smith of Urbana IL., and Robert Smith; four sisters, Josie Harmon of Texas, Addie Smith of San Diego, CA., Irene Slaughter of Champaign and Berniece Smith of Champaign; one granddaughter, Skylar Rose Smith; and, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Luella Williams; and, two brothers, Henry Smith and Eddie Smith.
 
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday September 2, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave, Urbana.
