Troy Fonville Obituary

Troy J. Fonville, 50, of Champaign, IL passed away at Carle Hospital Wednesday, Dec. 18th, 2024 at 6pm surrounded by his loving family due to sudden cardiac arrest. He was born Nov. 21st, 1974 at Burnham Hospital to Gary & Gloria Fonville Sr. 

 

He leaves behind his Fiancée Erin Minneman, Parents Gary Sr & Gloria, brother Gary Fonville Jr, 8 children - Dashiona Fonville 31, Tre’voy Fonville 28, Alana Fonville 26, Capri Fonville 24, Tianna Fonville 24, Abreshia Lackey 23, Trevon Fonville 17, & Janasia Dillon 16, 8 grandchildren Riley 9, Tre’voy Jr 8, Makyla 7, Montrez Jr 6, Ja’Bre 5, Johnie III 3, Ryann 3, & Azerion 2mo. 

 

Troy was always full of laughter & the life of the party. He wanted to make sure everyone who encountered him smiled and would always remember his smile. His personality is unmatched. Since a little boy He has always dreamed of being a CEO of his own company. Accomplished a week before his passing. Look out for LOAD SECURED TRUCKING. His favorite sport is basketball and his favorite team is LeBron Lol he played baseball for the Urbana Park District through elementary school. He met his wife Melissa at Urbana middle school aged 13, soon to be high school sweethearts. He was always the head of his class. He was recommended to attend Uni high school in first grade. He earned his Associates in liberal studies at Lakeland community college in 2015. He meet his best friend in 2003. Always supporting each other in their goals and having each others back no matter what. He proposed in 2018. Thinking of Troy, He was everything in this world, one word to describe him would be family-oriented. Anyone who knew him knows he loved and adored his kids more than anything. Family Over Everything. His selflessness defined him; he devoted his whole life to supporting those around him, willingly taking on any responsibility that came his way. His loyalty and integrity were unmatched, and his word was solid. 

 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Inez & Thurman Fonville Jr, Fleetie & Robert Hunt Sr, His ex wife Melissa , & his Best Friends Cool V & Paris. 

 

His unwavering commitment to his family is something that we will always admire and strive to emulate in my own life. He is a shining example of what it means to be a devoted and caring parent. He was the one person who gave nothing but love, constantly uplifting those he love with his words: “FONVILLE’s don’t say can’t.” Those words will resonate with us always!  #LOYALTYOVERLOVE

 

 

A Celebration of Life will commence at noon, January 3, 2025 at Leek and Sons- Urbana. Visitation will begin at 11am until the start of the service. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery.
