Thomasina Withers Obituary

​Thomasina Connie Marie Withers was born on September 21, 1947 in Chicago, IL. To Clifton Nelson and Dorothy Gatling Summers, Thomasina worked as a registered nurse for over thirty years. She worked at the Veterans Hospital, Danville Correctional Center, and Provena United Samaritans Hospital. 

​Thomasina is survived by four daughters: Tina Charles of Charleston, IL. De’Angela (Dennis) Jackson of Mecca, IN. Kandi (Rob) Fellers of Georgetown, IL. and Lakisha (Brian) Mason of Danville, IL. Her two sisters Carlene (Donald) Dawson of Champaign, IL. and Candy Scott of Danville, IL. and one brother Emmanuel (Keon) Nelson of Killen, TX. Her grandchildren Michaela, Samantha, and Cathy Smith. Thomas Archey, Keenen Butler, Arron and Thomasina Jackson, BahjiCunningham, Robert and DaVon Parker, Duran, Ja’lyn, Kindyn, and Jurnee Mason. Eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

​She was proceeded in death by both parents, a sister Dorothy Gourd, Two brothers Roland Gattling and Clinton Youngman.

​The family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation, Chase Jenkins, Celester Brown, Phyllis Parker, Kirsten Rusher, and for all the love and support over the last few months. We are forever grateful and ask for you to keep us in your prayers.  

 

Memorial service will start at 11:00 AM Saturday November 4, 2023 at Leek & Sons 304 E. Williams St., Danville.  Pastor Thomas W. Miller will officiate.
