On December 1, 2022, the Lord sent out request for another
angel. Tapria Nicole M answered the request and went home to
glory with her mother by her side at 10:15am.
Tapria Nicole M was born in Danville Illinois on October 4.
1972 to Diane (Reed) Sexton and, the father who raised her,
Rodric Sexton.
Tapria received her High School diploma at Danville High
School in 1990 and then went on to pursue higher education at
Tuskegee University in Mobile, AL. Tapria ultimately achieved
her PhD in Microbiology at Meharry Medical College.
Tapria was an academic, always looking for opportunities to learn.
Tapria was was a loving wife to Terriance Moody who she
joined in Holy Matrimony on March 9, 1996. Tapria was a
devoted mother to Tatum E. Moody and Terrace D. Moody,
whom she adored, proudly home schooled, and ensured they
knew the Lord.
Tapria was completely dedicated to the ministry. Tapria was a
philanthropist, donating time and money to different
organizations that supported education and the ministry. Tapria
has been volunteering her time at Second Harvest since 2016,
but has volunteered in various locations since moving to
Nashville in 1995.
Tapria grew up in the church, through her triumph she accepted
Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She attended Mason Temple
Church of God in Christ (Danville. Illinois) under the leadership
of her grandfather, The late Pastor Lee A. Reed, Sr. Tapria sang
in the choir, and was a member of the youth department. Tapria
Loved her family very much, so much so, she would be sure that
her and her daughters would call each family member on their
birthday to sing a special birthday wish.
Tapria leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Tatum
E. Moody and Terrace D Moody. Her parents Diane (Reed)
Sexton and Rodric Sexton. Grandmother Beverly J. Reed.
Siblings Talesha Sanders (Michael), Ta*Darrionia Hite. Step-
siblings Ty Bufford and Otedia Anglin; Nephew Michael
Sanders. II. Dakota; Nieces Ta'Micha Bruce (Christian),
Ta 'Miah Sanders, Tennile; two great nieces Ari'Ella Sanders,
Maliyah Bruce; Special Aunt Danielle Cherubin (Louis);
Special family The Burtons; and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and
Cousins who loved her dearly.
Tapria was preceded in death by her husband Terriance Moody,
Maternal Grandfather Pastor Lee A. Reed, Sr., Paternal
Grandparents Pastor Theophilus L. Schaffer and Etta Nease
Sexton Ball.
Homegoing Celebration will commence Thursday, December 8, 2022, 1:00 - 5:00pm (Central time) at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, Inc. 3855 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37218. Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2022 10:00 - 11:00am (Central time) at Born Again Church 858 W Trinity Ln, Nashville, TN 37207.
