Squire Brown Obituary

  Squire L Brown, 70, or Rantoul, passed this life on Monday December 29, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

 

                Squire was born July 30, 1950, in Cairo Illinois, the son of Carl and Dorothy Brown. He married Hattie Mae Brown on August 30, 1974. Squire was a Retired United States Marine Corp Corporal, where he was awarded The Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Rifle Marksman Badge.  Squire enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing the lotto. Squire was extremely pleased to be granted his High School Diploma, after enlisting in the Marines at 17.

 

Squire leaves to cherish his memory a son Squire L Brown Jr. of Rantoul, three daughters, Shanae D. (Terry) Beasley of Danville, and Demetria M. Sanford, and Tekeshia S. Brown both of Champaign. “PaPa” leaves 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents, three sisters( Jolyn Thomas, Vera Sanders, and Jesse Cooper) and two grandchildren.  

Squire will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Tuesday Januay 5, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Officiating Minister Terry Beasley. A public viewing will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.
