Sondra Robinson Compton Obituary

On April 7, 2025, Sondra Louise Robinson Compton answered the call to take her Savior’s hand at home surrounded by her devoted loving husband and her family medical team sister, Debra Watson, Nurse Practitioner, her niece Kearby, RN and niece Kara CNA.

Sondra was born to John “Kag” Robinson and Ernestine Robinson on December 5, 1969, in Danville, IL. She was the youngest of 6 siblings. She was the baby of the bunch and let everyone know it. Sondra, also known as Weize, grew up in Danville and attended St. Patrick Catholic Grade School until 3rd Grade and then attended District 118 schools. Sondra graduated from Danville High School in 1989 with the help of her childhood friend Eliza Brooks.

Sondra met, the love of her life, Darrell Compton in Killeen, TX in 1994, they later married in 2002. Darrell made sure Sondra did not want for anything. He was always by her side and took his oath seriously until she took her last breath.

Sondra was a second Mother to Yamaih (Walter) Torrent, Marcus Landry, Kearby, Kara Jayden Robinson and Kree Shaw. She was affectionately called “TT” by all the children she met. Her profound love and commitment to them was unwavering. Sondra was a member of Carter Metropolitan Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the Youth and Young Adult Usher Board until her illness would not allow her anymore. Sondra worked at Off Track Betting, Tee Pak Credit Union and City of Danville in the Finance office. Sondra did not let Cancer stop her from doing what she loved. She had the love of her husband, family, extended family and friends. She loved her dog, Dallas. She also loved shopping, did we say shopping, traveling, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Sondra was also known as the family hair stylist.

Sondra leaves to cherish her memories: her loving devoted husband Darrell Compton, Brothers: John (Laurie) Robinson and Charles (Candace) Robinson of Danville, IL, Gary (Verma) Robinson of Blue Springs, MO. Sisters: Carolyne (Lamont) Brown of Jefferson City, MO, Debra (Mark) Watson of Danville, IL, Andro Hannon, Alvin Hannon, Kim (Jimmy) Hannon.
