Samuel K. Davis

Samuel K. Davis, 68, of Danville, Illinois passed this life Saturday, January 21, 2023, in, Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born January 25, 1954, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Tommie and Clair Bell Davis. He was married to the love of his life, Catherine Huerta, for over 30 years.

He attended Danville High School and was an employee of General Motors until he retired. Sam’s cornerstone in life revolved around his family and he loved all of them the same. Sam was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, he was a passionate Illini, Bears, Cubs and Bulls fan and loved singing, watching old western movies, Matlock, and sports. His hobbies included, more singing, collecting the finest dress hats, suits, and shoes.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory, two sons and three daughters; Carlo Davis of Harker Heights, TX., Anthony Davis of Danville, IL., Valerie Davis of Rantoul, IL., Samantha Sims of Fort Worth, TX. and Domianisha Matchem of Urbana, IL., Son in-law Michael Sims Jr., Daughter in-law Lee Anna Davis, four brothers, Johnnie of Madison, WI., Donnie of Danville, IL., Tommie of Detroit, MI., Richard of Danville, IL.; one sister, Bertha of Saginaw, MI., nine grandchildren; Carlo Jr., Sincere, Nashir, Kameron, Phoenix, Michael III, Taevon, Dellbreshia, Devon and a host of nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Claretha, Brilla Jean and Sheila.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday February 4, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave, Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of service Interment: Sanhill Memorial Park.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm Friday February 3, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St.
