Sallie Mae Armstrong, 72 of Danville past this life at 11:59 a.m. December 17, 2020, to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Sallie is no longer suffering, for she is in the house of the Lord. And will now only feel the joy, peace, and happiness that her family and friends have for her homegoing.
Sallie was born September 27, 1948 in Sledge Mississippi. The daughter of Mahalie (Bennie) Lester and John Beasley. Sally leaves behind three daughters; Shannon (Thomas) Harris of Chicago, Nicole Thomas and Stephanie (Armstrong) Branch of Danville, and a brother Jimmy Lester of Milwaukee Wisconsin. She had 10 grandchildren; Tale’ya, Tiarra, Tapria, and Tavion Thomas, Marcus, Marniqua, Mario, Terrian, Nizaireus and Naziah Armstrong and abundance of great grandchildren.
Sallie worked as a cook and a seamstress. She loved to draw, do jigsaw puzzles, and watch her favorite tv show Cops. Sallie was a woman of great strength and many talents. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12noon, Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the time of service. A public viewing will be held 1-5PM on Monday December 21, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home.
Due to CDC regulations, restrictions will be enforced.
