Rudolph "Rudy" Stith

Rudolph “Rudy” Stith, 73 of Tinley Park, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Rudolph was born on February 18, 1952, at Chanute Air Force Base Hospital in Rantoul, IL. He was one of nine siblings.

Rudolph graduated from Rantoul High School in 1970. He attended the University of Illinois for four years, obtained an associate’s degree from Rainy River College in International Falls, MN, and then graduated from the University of Minnesota. 

Rudy has worked in many states and ended at Metra in Chicago, IL.

Rudolph is survived by his mother, Billie J. Stith; a son, Rudolph “Rudy” II Stith; a daughter, Stephanie (Dakota) Hanson; and three grandchildren, Tylson, Preslee, and Kai. 

He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Hill, Derrick Hill, Darrnel Hill, and Tyrone (Toni) Cole, and his sisters, Stephanie Stith, Michelle Hill, and Andrea Hill (Russell Franklin), as well as three cousins: Donna Epps, Angela Taylor, and Patricia Whitehead.

A memorial service will commence at 1:00 pm Saturday June 7, 2025 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave., Urbana. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon  until the time of the service.
