Rosli "Li" Habibullah

Guillerma “Gem” Habibullah (nee Watin) (71) and Rosli “Li” Habibullah (61) were involved in a traffic accident on I57S and passed away on August 3 and August 2, 2023, respectively. Gem, a former math teacher at St. Pius X High School in Festus, MO and Li, the owner of Monah’s International Groceries in Carbondale, IL found great joy in nourishing their communities: body, mind, and soul. Gem and Li are survived by their only child, Mo, and many much-loved relatives both in the United States and across the globe. They will be greatly missed.

Gem and Li will be buried at Mt Hope Cemetery in Champaign, IL on Tuesday, August 8 at 2pm. Friends and family welcome. A memorial service will be held in Carbondale, IL, (friends and family welcome), date and time to be announced.
