Mr. Ronald Clinton Adkisson was born June 30, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee. He departed into eternal life on May 22, 2021 in Greenwood, Indiana. Surviving siblings Phyllis (Gerald) Adkisson-Smith, Sharon (Michael) Adkisson-Kornegay and Mark (Stastina Woods) Adkisson. Two foster siblings Mrs. Eleanora Merriweather of Danville, Illinois and Mr. Keith Brown of Killeen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mr. Wilbur Clinton and Mrs. Minnie Geneva (Johnson) Adkisson and a loving brother Mr. Steve Roderick Adkisson. Ronald leaves to cherish his fond memories, four beautiful children: Danielle Adkisson-Robinson, Dionne Adkisson-Farr, Damon (Amy) Adkisson and Easton Adkisson – Limbanyi; ten beautiful grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
At a young age he became a member of the Church of Christ. He attended Bible School faithfully and song in the church choir. Ronald was educated in the Danville Public School District, Danville Area Community College and attended DeVry Technical. He had various jobs and completed his career as a law enforcement officer at the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Ronald was a kind generous, happy go lucky individual. He loved his family and friends. Ronald’s hobbies were music, carpentry, reading, telling tall tales, and pulling pranks on his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed western movies and a connoisseur of food. Ronald loved music! As a young man he took piano, and guitar lessons. In high school Ronald and two friends, started a band “The Masters of Soul”! Ronald’s love for music was an extra ordinary gift truly from God. He enjoyed playing the harmonica. He mastered the lead guitar and earned the nickname “The Axe Man”!
Ronald was loved by his family and friends! His contagious smile, his pearly white teeth, his beautiful sandy brown hair, his witty sense of humor, his love for music and his love for life will be missed by his brother and sisters. We will cherish your memory and all of the Love that you shared with us! Rest in the arms of Jesus Christ our Savior. In him……Amen
A Homegoing Celebration will commence on 12:00 Noon on Friday June 11, 2021 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Thomas Miller. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday June 10, 2021 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St.,Danville from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
