Roland Lewis Obituary

Roland George Lewis passed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2025.  Roland was born in Danville, IL on November 13, 1949 to parents Ted and Judith (Davis) Lewis.

Roland attended Danville schools.  He was also an avid sports fan, so much so that one of his last requests on the evening that he transitioned was to have someone turn on the Illini basketball game.  He was a huge fan of the fighting Illini. Roland got saved and was a member of Lighthouse World Ministries.  Roland made the most significant decision that one can make in this life when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Roland is survived by his nieces Babette (Fredrick) Leek, and Cathryn Lewis-Lillard both of Danville, Il and Nicole Lewis of Peoria, IL, and nephews Willie Rapier of Morganfield, KY and Dwight Johnson of Danville, IL.  He is also survived by special and loyal friends Curtis Turner and Neil Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Judith Lewis, and his five siblings Gene Lewis, Doris Lewis Kyse, Ruby Charlene Lewis Sanders, Wendell Lewis, and William (Hamp) Lewis. He was also preceded in death by nieces Charlea Lewis and Latasha Lewis, and a nephew Maurice Lewis.
