The mortal life of our beloved Roderick W. Bland began August 12, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his calling to do work for the Lord on May 15, 2023.
Rodrick graduated from Danville high school in June 1979. After high school he enlisted into the army for four active years. He then did 16 years in the army reserves Rodrick where traveled toured in operation desert storms during this time.
After the army reserves, he worked for Danville Steel, Thyssenkrupp Crankshaft, McLane Midwest, Freightcar America and Flex n Gate where he worked for the last five years.
Rodrick enjoyed life and loved his family and close friends. He also had a passion for music that led him to become the DJ at the Untouchables motorcycle club.
Rodrick leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters; Sarah, Bland of San Antonio, TX, Samarian Bland of Kansas City, MO. Three sons; Darius Bland of Liberty MO, Devante Bland, and Devarius Bland both of Kansas City, MO. One brother Joe(Surina) Lewis of Danville IL. Also 11 grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in his eternal life by his parents Rachious C. Bland and Pauline Bland (Love).
A Celebration of life will commence at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 27, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. A visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis Missouri.
