Raneshiea Lanise Allen

Raneshiea Lanise Allen was born on December 8, 1972, to Vanessa Jean Allen and Edgar Reed; she made her transition on July 21, 2023. Raneshiea was known to everyone as "Nise," "Scooter,” or “Mother."  

Nise attended Lawrence Dunbar High School from 1986-1989. She then decided to attend Job Corps in Joliet, IL, where she received her G.E.D. and a degree in clerical work.

Nise was her grandmother's, Geneva Washington,caretaker until the Lord called her home.   Everyone knew that taking care of her family was most important to her.   She was a Sister, Aunt, Therapist, Counselor, Disciplinarian, Chef, Doctor, and so much more to many people.   To know her was to love her.

Nise leaves to cherish her memory her partner, lover, best friend, and confidant of 35 years, her husband Torrence D. Woods; her children, Mahagony, Torrence Jr., Ebony, Emery and Ivory; 10 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, George, Kahila, Nicole, Sonomie Alex, Ebony, Jasmine, Simone Kareem, Malcome, Raheem, and Janette (Mohammad); a host of great-nieces and nephews; and, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geneva and Willie Washington; and, 2 uncles, Anthony Pinkton Allen, and Bam Cole Jr. III.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon August 1, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 311 Collette St., Danville.
