Randall Carter Obituary

On June 5, 2025, Randall Dwayne Carter took the hands of God and walked up the staircase to heaven.

He was born on May 8, 1980, to Patricia and Sherman Lillard in Danville, IL.  Randall grew up and attended Danville Area Schools.

Randall was a son, a brother, a father, and a protector.  He was known for his sharp mind, his love for fishing, and his deep curiosity about the world, often diving into conspiracy theories and collecting antique treasures that reflected his unique view of life.  Randall had a big heart and a bold presence.  He was loyal, funny, and deeply loved by those who truly knew him.

More than just family by blood, Randall was surrounded by close friends who stood by him through life’s ups and downs -- friends who became family in every way that matters.  Their bond was unbreakable, and their memories of Randall will carry his spirit forward.

He is survived by his father, Sherman Lillard; siblings, Rashawn Carter and Brian Carter; and his beloved children:  AverionaMartin, Tarrion Wendel, and Keira Carter.

Randall was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Lillard.

Randall will be deeply missed but never forgotten.   His legacy lives on in his family, friends, and in the love and laughter he shared with all who had the honor of knowing him.

Randall’s life will be honored on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at noon, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville.  He was cremated, and his memorial will include a prayer, a poem, a praise dance, and a song – a celebration as unique and meaningful as the life he lived.
