Paul Dorron Reed

November 1, 1970 ~ June 13, 2022 (age 51)


On June 13, 2022 the Lord sent out a request for another angel. Paul Dorron Reed answered the request and went home to glory surrounded by his family at 4:37am.

Paul Dorron Reed affectionately known to many as “Reed or Shorty” was born in Danville Illinois on November 1, 1970 to Donna Reed (Beck) and Benjamin Westley. At an early age a special dad came into his life, Anthony Collier.
Paul attended Danville High School and graduated from Lincoln Trail College at Eastern Illinois with a degree in Horticulture. Paul was a man of many talents. He loved sports, as a child he grew up playing football with the “Raiders” and baseball with the “American Legion” he was also a member of the wrestling team in high school. He was also a member of Pop-A-Long Kids and Ace Breakers break dancing crew where they competed and won several competitions. Paul joined the Army in 1989 where he served our country and created lifelong friendships along the way. Paul was currently pursuing his Bachelors degree in Theology through Regent University at the time of his death.

Paul Reed was the loving husband to LaRaShunda Spann, married on July 23, 2016. Paul was the devoted father to Jonathan D. Reed, Ja’Ron D. Reed, Jabbari D. Reed, Jacobi D. Reed and India A. Reed. Paul was also blessed with three grandchildren, Nyla Reed, Nash Reed and Niles Reed.

Paul was a hard worker who was extremely dedicated to his career. After leaving the Army, Paul worked for Quaker Oats and various other jobs. Most recently, Paul was a driver for Heartland Coca-Cola in St. Charles Missouri. Paul was also an entrepreneur who acquired multiple businesses during his lifetime. Throughout his life he has owned Blimpie Sandwich Shop, Perfection Plus Carpet Cleaning, as well as several commercial and residential properties.

Paul had several hobbies but one he loved most was golf. Paul was an avid golfer. He taught himself how to play and spent many days learning the game and practicing his craft. He was a member of two golf clubs, Da’ Villin's Golf Club and St. Louis Connection Golf Club. He loved to travel the country to play different courses and compete in tournaments.

Paul grew up in the church, through his triumph he accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior. He attended Mason Temple Church of God and Christ (Danville Illinois) under the leadership of his Grandfather, Pastor Lee A. Reed Sr. Paul sang in the choir, and was a member of the youth department. Paul had a heart of gold, he never met a stranger. He loved his family. Those who would cross his path, would always remember his charisma, whit, sense of humor and of course his beautiful smile. Paul was blessed with the gift of “connection”. He touched everyone’s life one way or another. Paul had friends and connections all across the United States that he could call on at any time. Paul was an extremely loyal person who was committed to helping others no matter what. He was the type of person that you could count on to be there when you needed him.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his wife LaRaShunda Reed, children, Jonathan D. Reed, Ja’Ron D. (Pansy) Reed, Jabarri D. Reed, Jacobi D. Reed and India A. Reed. His Parents,

Donna (Felton) Beck and Anthony (Earlene) Collier, Grandmothers Beverly J. Reed and Mildred Collier, Siblings; Shonna (Dennis) Rose, Troy (Heyonna) Collier, Mark (Chantel) Collier, Denise (Ericson) Beck, Anthony Collier II, Carlos Beck II, Olivia Beck and Benjamin (Josephine) Westley IV and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Westley, brother Benji Vander, grandfathers Pastor Lee A. Reed, Nathaniel Collier and Benjamin Westley and grandmother Lillie B. Westley.

Funeral Service will be held at Shalom Church City of Peace at 5491 N Hwy 67, Florissant MO 63024
