Otha Reed

Otha Reed was born September 13, 1940, in Leland, Mississippi to Attie and Andrew Reed passed this life May 11, 2026.  Otha lived in Mississippi until he relocated to Danville, Illinois where he attended Danville District 118 schools.  

Otha (Pa Pa/Paw Paw) was a member of Tabernacle of Praise under the leadership of Bishop Barry and Shirley Elliott.  He loved listening to Gospel music, spending time with family, watching tv shows, sitting on the porch, feeding outside animals, joking around, laughter and life. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife (Mary Reed), a sister Magnolia Cook, his children; Cheri (Alfred) Lyle, Dezaree (Jerald), Michael, Takasha, Myron, Tonya, Tanea (Damon) King, Kayla and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Otha is proceeded in death by his mother Attie, father Andrew, his brothers Joe Louis Reed and Cordell Reed and a sister Lillie Jones. 

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Tuesday May 26, 2026 at Tabernacle of Praise 610 Robinson St. Eulogist Bishop Barry Elliott Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment Sanhill Memorial Park.
