Oliver L. Shaw

Oliver L.. Shaw transitioned from this earth on December 26th, 2019 in Champaign, Illinois.  Oliver was born on November 12th 1945 in Trenton, Tennessee.  He leaves behind to cherish his memories, the mother of his children, Betty Turner-Shaw, along with four children, Chandra Shaw-Cross, of Champaign, Louis Shaw, of Champaign, Torrence (Jennifer) Shaw of Urbana, and Ramone Shaw of Champaign in addition to four grandchildren: Dorione Shaw, Champaign, Chelsea Cross, Charlotte, North Carolina, DaVonnis Shaw, Urbana, and Sydney of Urbana and one great grand-daughter, Myla Shaw of Champaign.

Oliver was proceeded in death by his mother and father Alex and Marie Shaw along with five brothers: Charles, Alfred, Freddie, Tommie, and Bobbie, and two sisters, Betty Jo and Carolyn.  Two surviving sisters, Gloria and Teresa, and lots of nieces and nephews.

Oliver Shaw retired from the University of Illinois as an employee of  Krannert Center, which he gave 30 years of service.

Oliver was called by many as "SHAW," and was known for his style of dress.  You always saw him out wearing a kango or dobb hat along with his nice suits.

A Celebration will commence at 12:00 noon on January 3rd 2020 at Leeks & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 West Bradley, Avenue in Urbana, Illinois 61801.  Visitation will be at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Lincoln Memorial Garden, Urbana, Illinois soon after. Leek & Sons Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
