Odessa Brown

 Odessa Brown, 87, of Champaign [formerly of Cairo, Illinois] passed away peacefully at 1:00am on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at C-U Nursing & Rehab in Savoy. 

Mrs. Brown was born on March 5, 1932, in Arkansas.  A daughter of Britt Ross and Nettie Campbell.  She was married for 56 years to Charlie Brown of Cairo, Illinois.

She is survived by her children, Charlie Brown, Jr., Edward Brown, Stan Brown, Paul Brown, and Vanessa Brown all of Champaign and Clarence Peter Brown of Cairo, Illinois, as well as many grand- and great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, one sister and three children, Annell Aikens, Rickey Brown and infant son Reggie. 

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker; dedicating her life to be a loving wife and mother to her children.  She was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Champaign, Illinois.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon on Friday January 17, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home at 1215 West Bradley Avenue in Urbana, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Leek & Sons Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
