Nova Naomi Young

Our beautiful sunshine “Nova” Young, 7, departed on April 23, 2023, at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago surrounded by her loved ones. Nova was born April 18, 2016 to Faith Nelson and Fate Young in Champaign IL.

Nova loved playing with her cousins, friends, and her babies (dolls). She was such a loving, silly, sassy girl. She was everyone's sunshine on a rainy day. Nova touched the hearts of everyone in her life. She loved school (PE) , and dancing to her favorite music videos on her phone.

Nova was preceded in death by her Father; Fate.

She is survived by her Mother; Faith, and siblings Niko and Nalani. Nova also leaves behind her grandmother and grandfather Latrece (Larry) Green, Perry II (Phaedra) Singleton, her aunts Hope, and Destiny, her uncle Perry III, and her cousins Eli, Ethan, Nola, Kevon, Juvonnie, Janessa, Perry IV, and Aubrey. Her godmother Sonja, and many others whom she loved and cared for.

Nova will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial gathering will be held at 11:30 am Saturday May 6, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave, Urbana.
