Myrtis Denise Newell

Myrtis Denise Newell gained her wings on November 6, 2021, at 3:17 pm, Surrounded by her family at Osf St Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, iL.
Denise loved God and was baptized at an early age at Mt.Zion. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially those she always claimed as her kids, Her nieces, and nephews. She was an avid spades player and a member of the Spade club. She loved to play bingo, sing, dance, and go shopping with her friends. Her mother was her best friend, so she made sure to call and talk to her multiple times a day.
Denise Newell was born September 19, 1963, to Cj and Corena Newell in Jackson, Mississippi. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother and siblings Torrence (Angelo) and Sherry Newell, Shaundra Tims (Toledo, Ohio), Felicia Newell, LaDarrius, and Adriane Hardimon, Janiah Newell of Danville, Aunts and Uncles Clevy(Joy), James(Mary), Gloria, Irma(Clint) special friends Titum, Richard, Bobby, Charlie,(c-mich), Angie, Darlene, Jenniffer, Mag, Tonnie, Keric Franklin, Pookie, Joyce, Earnestine, Debbie, Sheenie, Michelle Patton, Terresa, Monica McCullough And god sister Cheryl Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, paternal and maternal grandparents, and uncle Tj Newell and Aunt Lenora Taylor.
A special thank you to the ICU staff at Osf Sacred Heart and Saint Joseph Medical Center, who was so kind and compassionate to our loved one. We will miss Denise, but God knows best. She will be missed as a Daughter, Sister and Aunt, and a Niece and. Rest in peace, one of the strongest and most beautiful women we all know.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at work 12:00 Noon on Friday November 12, 2021 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.
