Murray L. Jefferson

Murray L. Jefferson was born in Turrell Arkansas on September 17, 1963, to Betty J. Pittman and Sammy L. Jefferson.

At a young age, he relocated to Danville Illinois, where he attended Danville public schools; graduating from Danville high School. Murray worked various jobs. He was very skillful at painting, landscaping, and loved to detail cars. Murray was a easy going peaceful man.

He was willing to help and assist anyone who asked him. He was also a natural comedian! He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, whom he helped to nurture and raise.

Murray leaves to cherish his memory with his children Channing Jefferson, Miranda Jefferson, and Ashley Wilson. His sisters; Twyla Pittman of Danville, Tameka Jones of Troy, IL., Olivia Barton and Keshia Jefferson both of St. Louis, MO. Step sisters; Karen Davis, Leslie Davis, and Mary Drain. His brothers; Samuel Jerman Jefferson, Samuel Houston Jefferson, and Sammy Jefferson. Two aunts; Sandra Logan and Barbara Hopkins. Two Uncles; Nathaniel Pittman and James Pittman. Grandchildren; Elijah Jefferson, Chynna Jefferson, Choyce Jefferson, Channing Jefferson Jr., Cinsere Jefferson, Zadyn Laws, Zayne Laws, A'lani Wilson, and a bonus grandchild Aireus Duckworth. Best friends; Eric Hardimon, Aa'ron McClyde, Kevin Riscky, Jeff Williams, Kennedy Cooper, Dave. and Greg Robinson.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, and step father Jesse Lee Davis. Paternal Grandparents Freeman and Ella Mae Jefferson. Maternal Grandparents Nathaniel and Ollie Pittman. A sister Valerie (Niecy) Jefferson. Best friends Anthony Shaw and James Driver.

A memorial service will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday April 28, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville.
