Montrel Fredrickeon Morris passed on to eternal life, February 7, 2023 in Danville, Illinois.
Montrel Fredrickeon Morris was born on September 3, 1982 to Vanessa Morris and Dwayne Ramsey. He enjoyed playing football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. Montrel was a loving, kind, funny, energetic, and joking individual. No matter what the problem was, he always had a joke for you. Montrel accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Free will Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board and sang in the choir.
Montrel leaves to cherish his loving memory, his parents, Vanessa Morris, and Dwayne Ramsey, two daughters Destiny Turner of Champaign, IL, Amya Larkin of Danville, IL, a son Jayden Montrel Morris of Kentucky, three sisters Liza Taylor of Champaign, IL, Gladine (Quincy) Williams of Sacremento, CA, Tanoka Laws-Nance of Huntsville, AL, four stepsisters Veronica Marr, Evelyn Powell, Eriqua Powell, and Jekailah White, two brothers, Vance and Wesley Laws of Danville, IL, two step brothers Navin Linzy and Zebredia Powell, as well as dozens of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks to his grandparents Mertice Ramsey, Gloria Cooper, aunt Mary Ann Williams, uncles Wesley Brandon Sr., Terry and Jerry Jackson.
It takes a village to raise a child. Montrel also leaves to cherish his extended family, Marilyn Carter, Brenda Shaw, Melody Finch , William Laws, Elmon Taylor, Dewone Dandridge, Gregory Forman Jr., The Shaw Family, Sandra Pittman, Bryant Young Sr., Nikeya, Lamel, Bryana, Lil BK Young, Shalita Watson, Onterrio Lillard, Damara Joyner, Demarius, Jujuan, Jeffrey, Latyia, Daveyon Darnell, and Anthony Goings.
Montrel Fredrickeon Morris, 40 years of age, was received into eternal rest by his sister Zarra Laws, brother William Laws III, Eric Powell, grandfathers E.L. Ramsey and Luther Cooper Sr., and his maternal great grandparents, and Luther Allen Cooper.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 17, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave, Danville. Eulogist: Elder Linda Cooper. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Atherton Cemetery, Danville.
