Monica Denise Philpott

Monica Denise Phillpott went to be with the Lord October 18, 2020. She was born December 10, 1964, to Patricia Phillpott and Lamont Parsons. In 1982, Monica graduated from Danville Highschool and continued her education at D.A.C.C. In 2015, Monica moved to Lake City, Florida and lived with her Aunt Margo Parsons Robinson and in 2015, she lived with her dear friend CeCe Wooward.

Monica was an avid reader and continued to seek and spread knowledge her entire life. Monica worked for various food service establishments and always had a unique way of mixing herbs and spices for her eccentric recipes. Gardening and going wild green picking were two of her favorite things to do. She also liked quilting, knitting, and crocheting which she learned from her grandmother. Although Monica never had children of her own, she was very instrumental in helping with raising Tyler Phillpott, Andrea Phillpott and other children in our family and for that we will forever be grateful.

Monica leaves behind to cherish her memories: her Mother Patricia Phillpott, Father Lamont (Edna) Parsons; Sisters Cheryl (Michael) Wilson, Cynthia Brown and Kelly (Phil) Edwards; Brothers Gregory Phillpott, Tracy Parsons, Keon Parsons; her dear friend Carlotta Cox Warner and a host of relatives and friends. 

A celebration of life will commence at 12PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home Danville. A visitation will begin at 11AM until the start of the service.  A public viewing will also be held from 1-5PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Leek & Sons, Danville.  Burial: Athertons Cemetery.  Officiating: Minister Danny Odomes.

Due to CDC regulations, restrictions will be enforced.
