Minister Ricky E. Boose

Ricky E. Boose, 59, died unexpectedly March, 1, 2023, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL . He was born April 29, 1963, in Chicago, IL the son of Elsome Boose and Ollie Mae Goods. After his mother's passing he was later raised by his Aunt the late Ruth Simms.

Ricky graduated from South Shore High School Class of 1981. Following graduation Ricky would work for Kane Security, Prairie Construction, and his most recent labor of love Danville Rescue Mission. Ricky was baptized at House of Prayer and Healing In Chicago, IL under the late Pastor Louise Arnold and received the Holy Spirit in 1978. 

Ricky had 4 biological children, Ricky Jr,  Rickeda, Richard, and Rickele. Ricky later married his now wife Shelly Boose on August 14, 2009, and gained 6 additional children Tashuna, Olivia, Calvin, Claudine, Chris (Ke'osha) and Chad (Ellen). 

Ricky enjoyed praying, serving others, making people laugh and being Ricky. Ricky, had a one of a kind personality and his friendly spirit allowed him to gain a host of friends and new found family.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, 4 siblings, and his stepson Calvin. He leaves to cherish his wife, all of his children, 36 Grandchildren, and 16 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday March 10, 2023 at Second Baptist Church, 940 N. Franklin St. Danville, IL. Ricky will be Eulogized by Min. Daniel Offett. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Thursday March 9, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home.
