Minister Lee Oliver Rose, Sr. took his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. He transitioned from earth to glory with Heaven in his view while singing, “Yes to his Lord.”
Minister Rose was born on June 15, 1940, in Belmont, MO to the late William Daniel Rose, Sr. and Martha (Ma Matie) Williams. He attended schools in Belmont, MO, and received his GED from DACC.
Minister Rose was saved at the Old Mason Temple COGIC and joined Mother Quay Vashti Tyler and her ministry. He later went about spreading the gospel throughout Danville and surrounding areas earning the names, Preacher Rose or Gabby.
He worked for The 300 Room, Kmart, and Central Foundry/General Motors for 51 years. He previously sold insurance.
Preacher Rose was previously married to Nazaree E. Lyle and Alice Strange (deceased).
He leaves to cherish his memory 13 children, Valerie Smith, Crystal (Jimmy) Atcher, Sonya (Jeffery) Tyler, Lee Oliver Rose, Jr., William (Michelle) Rose, Timothy (Brooke) Rose, Deborah Rose, Mark (Erin) Rose and Thaddeus Rose, Sr. all of Danville, IL, Lisa Rose of Murfreesboro, TN. Christopher Rose of Indianapolis, IN. and Priscilla Rose; a bonus son, Phillip Rose, Sr., of O’Fallon, IL; siblings, Shirley Rose, Dorcy Rose, Clementine Scott, George Rose, Sr., Elbron (Pete) Rose, William Daniel Rose, Jr., Maurice Rose and Roy (Thomas) Rose; 44 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. The Lord blessed him to see 5 Generations.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday December 2, 2022 at Saint Synagogue Church of God in Christ 2605 E. Main St. Danville. Eulogist: Minister Demetrius Tyler. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment Springhill Cemetery.
