Michael Daniel Rose was born on May 31, 2009, to Aundrea Rose and Gilbert Scott. Michael’s life was tragically cut short on March 31, 2026, after a year-long battle following a senseless act of gun violence.
He fought with strength, courage, and resilience, but God ultimately called him home. This devastating loss has left an unfillable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Michael was known for being fierce, fearless, and deeply protective of those he cared about. If you were his family or friend, he stood by you with loyalty and love. He was the oldest of his mother’s children and the youngest of his father’s, carrying both roles with pride.
Michael had a vibrant personality and a love for life. He enjoyed singing, cooking, dancing, playing video games, and making others laugh. Even through the challenges he faced, Michael never stopped chasing his dreams. He was determined to finish school and become an accountant because, as those close to him knew, Michael loved the finer things in life. He was also preparing to start working and was excited about an upcoming trip to New York.
Michael had a creative spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset. Alongside his close friend Elijah, he was building a clothing design business. His love for music was reflected in his favorite artists, including Tate McRae, Melanie Martinez, and Playboi Carti. In the kitchen, he found joy in cooking, especially making cheesecake, Rotel, and shrimp meals he loved to share with others.
Michael leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: His brothers, Dretwan Ross, Angelo Nickens, Julius Nickens, Nathan Scott, and Dajuan Scott. His sisters, Areya Rose and Alayja Ross.
His beloved cousins, Ma’Ryja Forman, Nevaeh Forman, Aanija Reed, Rajaih Reed, Katherine Williams, Jalen Robinson, and Will Rose. His “second parents, ” Anyika Quarles, Kearra Williams, and Demetrius Tyler.
His close friends, Elijah Brown, Dakari Reed, Jazlynn Whorrall, Damonah Rowell, and Dashaya Polk, and special friend of the family Rolana Brown.
And his grandparents, Deborah Rose, Michael Wilson, Edda Garner, and Theodore Scott.
Michael’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, strength, and purpose. His memory will live on through the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the dreams he carried.
