Michael Anthony Perkins

Michael Anthony Perkins was born on November 14th, 1962, in Urbana, Illinois to George Lee Biggers and LaVeda Clara Perkins.

Michael attended Urbana High school where he later graduated and received his High School Diploma in 1980.

Michael worked for D.A.R.T for many years. Later, he transitioned to work for Kraft-Heinz and U-Haul which both jobs he deeply enjoyed. He was also a yard worker who tirelessly provided for his community for those who were in need. Michael also was a very loving, generous, and caring person who deeply enjoyed fellowship with his family, friends, and associates. Foremost, Michael also was a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Michael married the love of his life, Tandra Elizabeth Perkins, on September 10, 2001, in Urbana, IL in holy matrimony.

Michael was affectionately known by family and friends as “Uncle Michael” or “Mike”. Michael also was known as a great cook who would throw down with the quickness at family or friend gatherings.

Michael Anthony Perkins returned to the Lord on January 12th, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was proceeded in death by his wife Tandra Elizabeth Perkins, his grandmother.; Myrtle Eleanor Head.; and his father.; George Lee Biggers.

Michael will truly be missed. His memory will not be forgotten and will forever live on.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory to both his son; Daniel Jermaine Perkins and Michael Antonio Huff; Mother, LaVeda Clara Perkins; Brother, Aubin Delano Perkins; Sisters, Crystal Lemuel Perkins, Wendy Jones, Teresa Wilson (Edward), Valerie Ann Perkins, and Desiree Danielle Muhammad (Theo). Michael also leaves to cherish his memory to his grandchildren along with a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his friends.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday January 31, 2025 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Urbana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
