Mike was diagnosed with Leukemia February 24, 2017 he fought a long battle which ended on September 21, 2020 at 6:57pm at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.Cancer does not care who it takes, who it hurts, honors or loves. It comes into your life and starts to break the threads that hold you and you are left to see pieces of yourself slip away and dreams fade...But the end is when the most amazing thing happens, cancer loses its strength and grace appears. We need to see it. We accept it, and go with it. Grace and love wins, not cancer. Mike loved to play and watch basketball, he loved all Chicago sports teams.Michael Wayne London (Mike), was born on August 23, 1981 in Chicago, IL to John and Edna Pruitt, Mike was the oldest of three children.Mike accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with New Life Church of Faith in Danville, IL. Mike attended Lakeland University-Sheboygan Wisconsin after graduating from Manley High School in Chicago, IL. He worked at Auto Zone Distribution until his illness.
Mike leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Tia Rowell-London and four children, Mikyia London, Milan Alexander, Milah Alexander, and Mia London. His father and mother John and Edna. His sister Juanita Pruitt and brother John Pruitt Jr (Alexandria). He also leaves to cherish his mother-in-law Tina (Tanya) Jones, father-in-law Alvin Jones Sr brother-in-law Alvin Jones Jr and sister-in-law Kamilla Jones. And a host of uncles, aunts,cousins and childhood friends.
Preceded him in death his grandmothers Lillie Williams, Allonia Pruitt, aunt Sonya Williams,uncle Samuel (Main) Lunder, uncle Edward Lewis Sr, grandmother-in-law Pinnie Rowell, and uncle-in-law Courtland Rowell.
A Celebration Of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon September 29, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Officiating Pastor Thomas W. Miller Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow after at Springhill Cemetery. A public viewing will be held on September 28, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Leek & Sons Funeral Home.
