Michael Dennis Obituary

On May 26, 1952, Michael Dennis was born to William and Evelyn Dennis, in Chicago, IL.  Evelyn remarried and moved to Markham, IL. with her husband Ivory Chavers. Michael was raised along with his siblings Ellen, William Jr, Elizabeth and David. At a young age, Michael developed a great love for Jehovah and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Michael also loved basketball, baseball and he was very athletic. As a young man, Michael worked at the post office for several years. He then became a music d.j. and was well known. Besides sports, another one of Michael’s hobbies was roller skating. He became an extremely talented skater and often took his nieces skating with him at the Markham Roller Rink. Later, Michael met Pamela K. Franklin. They fell in love and got married on November 6,1993. Michael and Pam shared their lives together in Danville, IL. There was where Michael became a well-known barber. He also had a very comedic personality that his family and friends loved. If you were around Michael, you would always be laughing. Michael fell asleep in death on November 18, 2025 at the age of 73.   Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Williams Dennis, Evelyn Chavers, Ivory Chavers; his brothers, William Dennis Jr. and David Chavers; his niece Asia; his great nephews Jamar, Jeremiah, and Ezra. Michael is survived by his wife Pamela Dennis,  his son Anthony Bridgewater -Dennis, his daughter Nakeisha Johnson, 5 grandchildren, his sisters Ellen Brown and Elizabeth Day, his brother in law Dennis Day Sr, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews ,sister in laws Betty Ann and Stacy, step daughter Robin, step sons Christopher and Aaron, several step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and many friends that  cherished and loved him dearly.

Visitation will be from 11 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 2, 2025 at Leek &  Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Danville.
