Mary Ann Wright was born on February 22, 1952, to Ola Mae and Ernest Wright in Sledge, MS.
Mary attended grade school in Sledge, MS and later moved to Danville, IL at the age of 13.
Mary was a dedicated and hard worker. She had many jobs from cleaning to cooking. Her enjoyed eating, watching the news on tv and Wheel of Fortune. Mary loved playing the lottery, listening to music, play around and joke with others. Her kids got her joking spirit. No mistake though, Mary didn’t play. She said what she meant and meant what she said. Mary loved her privacy and being in her own world.
Mary loved her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Antonio Wright of Urbana, IL and Dontrail Wright of Champaign, IL; 21 grandchildren (11 girls and 10 boys); 1 great grandchild; four siblings, Ernest Wright, Jr. of Danville, IL, Joann & Willie Means of Longhorn, MS, and Betty Harris and Monica Jones both of Danville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amos and Virginia Peat; paternal grandparents; Aunt Mattie; daughter, TamaMary know that she is at peace and pain free.know that she is at peace and pain free.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Thursday December 21, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment: will be held at 10:00 am Mount Olive Cemetery in St. Joseph on Friday December 22, 2023.
