Obituary

The mortal life of our beloved Mary Louise McFarland, began on September 26, 1939 in Edwards Mississippi, born to the Union of Johnnie Horton and Surlisha McFarland. She accepted Christ at an early age at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. She graduated from Moriah High School.

She relocated to Champaign, Illinois, where she later became a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for 28 years. She was a very intelligent, hard working, and fun loving person. She retired from the University as a cook after working 20+ years.  Everyone loved to be around her. She enjoyed listening to spiritual music, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Her transition was peaceful and now she is at rest. She leaves cherishing her with loving memories her 2 sons James Otis McFarland and Larry McFarland. 4 Sisters: Lucille McFarland, of Edwards, Mississippi), Johnnie Mae Harvey (Percy), Earnetine McFarland, and Alma Jean McFarland (Rolando) of Champaign, Illinois,) Brothers: Joseph Horton, of Edwards, Mississippi, Robert Earl Horton (Ann), and Charles Walker Jr. (Susan) of Jackson, Mississippi.
