Mary Louise Jackson, 89, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 26, 2021.
Mary was born May 22, 1932 in Holly Springs Ms. to the late Henry and Olivia Campbell.
Mary was loved and respect by her family and friends. She loved fishing, planting flowers, and spending time with family. She Loved her only surviving sibling, her sister Cleo Thomas.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and attended Freewill Baptist Church under Pastor A.L. Swanigan and then united with New Kingdom under Pastor Forman. In 2008, her grandson, Rev. Dr, Jerry Wilson became Pastor of Freedom M.B. Church and she United there to support her grandson. Mary also loved her home care assistant Cheryl "Shell" Lillard.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her 5 children, Rodney Edwards of Champaign, Tommie (LuLu) Anderson of Indianapolis In, Bobbie (Steve) Hawkins, Terry Jackson, Jerry Jackson all of Danville IL. 1 sister Cleo Thomas of Memphis Tn. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death 4 brothers Don, Junior, Earle and Rovessa Campbell. 3 sisters Alberta Razor, Pearly Mae Anderson, Oprah Dawson. 7 children Sammie Smith, James, Tommy Jr, Luther, Claudine, Olivia, Lisa, and a Special grandson Xavier.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on Saturday June 5, 2021 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman, Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Jerry Wilson. Visitaion will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Friday June 4, 2021 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304, E. Williams St., Danville.
