Mary Harris Hunt Obituary

Mary Sue Harris Hunt was born December 7, 1949, to John Cephas Harris and Bobbie Sue (West) Newbill in Trezevant, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother, Alonzo Junior Newbill.

She received her education from MTA Jr. High School (Atwood, TN), Webb High School (McKenzie, TN) and graduated from Trezevant High School (Trezevant, TN) in 1968.  She was a faithful supporter of Webb Alumni Association, Inc. for more than four decades.

As a youth, Sue accepted Christ and started a life of belief and strong Christian faith. She united with the Wingo Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she served as a Usher and sang in the choir.  She remained a faithful and dedicated member until she relocated to Urbana, IL in 1985.

She was united in Holy Matrimony on February 14, 1988 to Bobby Lyndell Hunt in Urbana, IL. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend.

Sue was full of life and joy.  The joy she embodied was contagious.  If you knew her, you had no choice but to catch it! She was a giving, loving and kind person who would help anyone she could and never met a stranger.  She enjoyed a faithful 38-year career at Dart Container formerly Solo Cup…truly no stranger to the workforce.

Late Sunday evening, November 12, 2023, Sue humbly answered the call to enter into God’s eternal presence.
