Martha Jean Thompson

Martha Jean Thompson, 80 of Urbana, also known as (QJ) ,Queen Jean or Momma Jean, transitioned from this life at 10:28am on August 5, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Born, Martha Jean Wash to parents Doc Wash and Lucille Wash, on July 13th 1941. She was raised with 14 siblings. QJ, as she was called by her friends & family, married George Thompson in Tologa, Mississippi. He preceded her in death. QJ enjoyed playing Bingo, gathering with friends to plays cards, cooking, but most of all caring for others. She raised and cared for many family members and friends.

Martha J. Thompson leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children; Desanta L. Thompson-Beals (Curtis Beals), Edward D. Thompson (Meechie), Dino A. Thompson (Jocelyn Thompson) and Shawn A. Thompson; 17 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren & 7 Great Great Grandchildren; siblings: Udell (Billy) Wash, Grady Wash, Fee Wash, Harold Wash, Irma (Red) Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Doc Wash and Lucille Wash; Brothers- Ezell Wash, Clifford Wash, Clodell Wash, and DC Wash and Sisters- Myrtel King, Gladys Hearns, Margie King, and May Wash, 3 Grandchildren,
1 Great Grandchild and 6 Nieces.


Martha Jean Thompson loved us all and would not want us to be sad because she know you have done right by her, So now it's the Lord's turn.
