Marsha L. Mason Ingram July 1, 1952 – April 17, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marsha L. Mason Ingram on April 17, 2025. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Marsha was born on July 1, 1952, to William and Charlotte Mason in Danville, where she spent her childhood and attended Danville Public Schools. In August 1985, she married John Aka Yahya Rahman Ingram, and together they shared many cherished years.
She dedicated 25 years of her career to General Motors, retiring in 2004. Following her retirement, Marsha continued to serve her community through her work with the Boys and Girls Club and the Community Action Program.
Marsha was a lifelong member of the CME church, where her dedication was evident in every role she embraced. She served as president of the R.A. Carter Club, contributed her talents on the culinary committee, sang in the choir, and helped teach children at Sunday school each week. Her faith and commitment to bringing people together were a cornerstone of her life.
Above all, family was Marsha’s greatest joy. She was a devoted mother to her five children: Eric (Carlotta) Mason, Jonathon (Lakisha) Mason, Terrance (Irene) Brown, Komiko Butler, and Razonia Brown. She was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, William “Bill” Mason; her cherished aunts, Jackie Lucas and Pat Philpott; her uncles, James Swim and Frank Mason; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marsha’s life was further enriched by the lifelong friendships she shared with her girls, whose love and support meant the world to her.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, William and Charlotte Mason; her aunts, Nat Mapp, Julia Swim, and Mary Tyler; her uncles, Leonard Philpott, Leon Mason, and Jack Mason; and her grandparents, Everett and Delores Mason.
A woman of many joys, Marsha loved doing puzzles, bowling, cooking, and organizing family gatherings. She found true fulfillment in creating cherished memories with those she loved.
A celebration of Marsha's life will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Carter Metropolitan Church (C.M.E), 426 East Williams, Danville, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Marsha will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
