Marjorie Byrd, 77 of Danville, Illinois, transitioned peacefully in her sleep on July 1, 2020 at 4:35 a.m.
Marjorie was born on August 20, 1942, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Johnny Byrd and Betty Dinkins. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior.
Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved cooking just as well as eating. She also enjoyed fishing and listening to music.
Marjorie leaves behind two daughters, Monica (Thomas) Brandon and Veronica (Jed) Dixon, a sister; Janet Bailey and a brother Robert (Jackie) Dinkins. She also leaves two granddaughters, Saryaia and Zuri Howard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Byrd and Betty Dinkins, two brothers, Tony and Charles Dinkins, a special aunt Hallie Hill, grandfather James Stacker and a grandson Michael Brandon.
Private viewing will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams Street in Danville, with Graveside Rites following at Spring Hill Cemetery.
