Margaret “Donut” Crider

Margaret Crider was the sweet ‘Chocolate Drop’ of the late Paul R. Lester Sr. and Margaret (Donette) Lester. She was born on April 2, 1975 in Danville, Illinois.

She attended Danville schools. Donut, as she was affectionately called, was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher to greet others with a great smile. Donut enjoyed poetry, music, dancing, fishing, playing cards and dominos. She loved to make people laugh. Donut was very caring and would give her last to help anyone. Donut loved spending time with family; especially her mother, grandchildren and sisters.

Donut leaves to mourn and cherish sweet memories: Mother, Donette Lester; Significant other, Robert Adams; Children: Demarco (Josie) Brown, Treyvon Brown, Angel Brown, Kyra Brooks, and  Jacob Brooks; Grandchildren: Maddix Ross-Brown, and Zendaya Ross-Brown; Siblings: Jessie (Warren) Chestnut, Monica (Cedrick) Beasley, Paul (Elaine) Lester Jr., Paul (Rosita) Lester, Paulette Lester, Corey Crider, Travis Lester, Jeremy (LaToya) Parrish; Special Aunt, Cherry Coe; Special Nieces: Antayza Miller, Leonia Beasley, Georgeonna Lester, ShaCoria Crider, Whisper Beasley; Special Nephews: Warren Crider, Marquis Robinson, and Tobias Beasley. Special Friends: Porsha Jackson and Angela Rowell; Best Friend: Naya Golatte.

Margaret ‘Donut’ was proceeded in death by her father, Paul R. Lester Sr.; grandmothers: Mahalie Lester and Barbara Jean Brooks and two children.

A Private Homegoing Service that will be live streamed via Facebook will commence at 11:00 a.m Monday, May 4, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home.  Officiating: Pastor Norvel Crider.  Viewing will be from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the funeral home.

DUE to COVID 19 regulations ALL family members and friends who plan to attend VIEWING are REQUIRED to practice extreme precaution by wearing protective mask, gloves and practicing social distancing.  Please be considerate of others, as only ten people will be allowed inside the funeral Home at a time. Interment SanHill Memorial Park.
