Marcus Catchings Jr. was born on a Friday, the 13th of September 1995, in Chicago, Illinois.
We knew he was going to be talented. He was inborn with a special ability. He acquired his ability for basketball through practice.
At the age of nine he joined the Boys and Girls Club basketball team in Champaign, Illinois. He was starting on his journey. He soon joined the middle school team in Champaign, Illinois. He soon transferred to Urbana, Illinois. He gained more knowledge. He was ready for Urbana High School team in Urbana, Illinois.
He became one of the best basketball players that ever traveled through, Urbana High School. He was a star, when he touched the ball. Everyone in the stands would scream. They knew he was going to put on a show, and he did.
Anybody that knew him, knew he loved his four girls and Minnie the Frenchie. He was the best father a child could have. God made him special, gave him a kind demeanor. He was always smiling, being polite, and treating everyone with respect. If you were around him, he gave you joy. It was not about what he said but the way he said it. He had swag.
