Louise Butler Obituary

Louise Butler was born September 26, 1924 in Lafayette, Kentucky to the late David Franklin Gee and Clara (Collins) Gee.

She was a graduate of Central High School in Champaign, Illinois. Later she married the love of her life, Earnest Butler, on November 9, 1951.

Louise was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and was a great homemaker.

Beyond her family, the call of her life was to serve the Lord. She was a founding, charter, and the eldest member of Northside Church of Christ in Champaign. There she yielded to her passion for nuturing and shared her years of experience and wisdom giving guidance to the young women of her church family.

While at home in Champaign, Illinois and among devoted family and loving friends, the Lord called Louise forth to His Kingdom at 6:30 a.m. on July 6, 2021. She was 96 years old.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her beloved husband: Earnest Butler, her children: Lois Shaver (Denver, CO), Arnold Tyrone Gee (Charolette, NC), Ernestine Butler (Champaign, IL), David Adrain (Minnie) Butler (Sacramento, CA), and Emanuel (Wendy) Butler (Lincoln, IL). A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents: David and Clara Gee, siblings: Mattie Sue Bell, Sherman Gee, Cathleen Cheatham, Myrtha Giddens, and Thomas Gee. Also preceding her in their earthly departure her son-in-law: Lee C. (Lois) Shaver and daughter-in-law: Carolyn (Tyrone) Gee.
