Linda Robinson Obituary

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” -John 14:1-3

Linda L. Robinson, 62, of Danville, Illinois gracefully transitioned from this life on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born on July 24, 1958 to her loving mother Ora Lee Robinson and father Roland Hurd, followed by four beautiful siblings shortly after.

After her completion of school, Linda went on to graduate from a program with her certification in Food and Health Sanitation, and was well on her way to earning her an associates degree. After medically retiring, she pursued her passion to nurture her plants, performing all sorts of renovations, being a seamstress, and occasionally interior design. Artistic and skillfully equipped with the ability to bring anything back to life, she found joy in the simple things in life such as treasure hunting.

As a member of Greater Works Ministry, she was a true woman of God who filled her days with praise and worship, testimonies, and studying to continue her growth allowing not only herself to become even closer to God but each and everyone she touched. Always willing to extend out a hand to those in need, her immense efforts to perform good deeds did not go unseen by those who loved her. Loved by many, this gentle heart that was lent to us for just a short time has returned home, leaving us with her famous words to remember her by, “Keep your head up, and let your heart smile”. So as we say our “see you laters,” remember that on this day, she would ask that you allow your heart to smile because God has her now and she is safe within His arms.

Linda leaves behind to cherish her memories, one brother: Gregory Robinson of Chicago, IL; four children: Artia Driver, Ashley Elam, Robert Elam Jr. of Danville, and Artis Driver Jr. of Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren: Ta’Niya Driver, Omir Driver, Troy Driver, Ta’Nyjai Driver, Savannah Driver, Jayk Barker, Ar’mia Driver, Zaaleiyah Jean, Serenity Driver, Jayden Driver, Robert Elam III, Miranda Elam; two great-grandchildren: India Smith and Kai Driver. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, friends, cousins, and a truly dedicated Aunt Barbara Robinson of Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one grandchild; J’Nyla Jean, and great-grandchild; Ma’Sai Smith, two sisters; Carla Robinson and Janet Bryant, and one brother; Joe Robinson.
