Lillie Belle Miller, affectionately known as “TT”, “Mother Miller” or “the Candy Lady”, was born on November 9, 1932 in Holly Springs, Mississippi to Frank and Madore Marion.
She attended Marshall County schools in Laws Hills, Mississippi.
On Thursday, December 27, 1951, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bernard Miller. They were married for 42 years.
Ms. Miller was a very active faithful member of St Luke CME church where she served on the Kennedy Club as President, the Missionary Society and Evangelism Ministry. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking ministry - homemade chicken and dumplings served with cornbread, fried pies, coconut cakes, chocolate cakes and her famous delicious 5 flavor cakes were a few sought after favorites. She enjoyed serving others. Ms. Miller was also known as the ‘Candy Lady’ because she enjoyed passing out candy to the little kids and the big kids (adults) after service. Along with cooking and baking, she enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Judge Judy, In the Heat of the Night and her favorite daytime Soap Operas everyday.
Ms. Miller really loved and enjoyed her family and especially holiday time for family get together. She always sang Happy Birthday to the kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always made their favorite birthday cake.
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, she peacefully journeyed home to be with her Heavenly Father. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished and always remembered to her two daughters, Princess Miller of Urbana and Donna Graham (Kenny) of Dallas, GA; two bonus daughters, Tunoia Elaine Jones of Champaign and VerNessa Macon Hunter of Urbana; one bonus nephew/son, Maurice Marion of Champaign; six grandchildren, Kelsie (TJ) Jackson (Adrian) of Urbana, Maurice Horton-Miller of Urbana, Erica Fuller (Quinton) of Marietta, GA, Alexis Milton (Anthony) of Atlanta, GA, Michael Macon of Dallas, GA and William (Malika) Graham of Dallas, GA; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded her in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard Miller; one daughter, Dottie Kay; and, two brothers Frank Marion and Joseph Marion.
Celebration of life will commence at 12:00 noon Monday October 21, 2024 at St. Luke CME, 809 N. 5th St.
Champaign, IL 61820. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
