Lillie Mae Calloway, 90 years old, transitioned into eternal life at 10:44 pm, Friday, July 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Lille Mae Calloway was born February 5, 1933, in West Memphis, Arkansas, the third eldest of Aurther Lee and Viola Pauline Williams. She was united in holy matrimony to Mose Calloway Jr. on April 14, 1955, in Danville, Illinois.
She was employed and retired from Peterson (CCL) after working for over 20 yrs. She was a member of the Senior Group at the Laura Lee Fellowship House. She was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her membership included being on the Mothers Board, church choir, and the Sick & Shut-in committee. Some of her hobbies include spending time with her grandchildren, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, watching “Young and the Restless”, “The Bold and the Beautiful”, traveling, and Word Search Puzzles. She was committed to serving her family, especially her grandkids. Her most enjoyable moments were visiting her kids and grandkids and folding their laundry.
Survivors include her sons, Ezzard “Pete” Coleman of New Castle, IN, Anthony Calloway of Indianapolis, IN, and Victor (Leigh) Calloway of Savoy, IL; her daughters, Carolyn Calloway of Indianapolis, IN, Shirley (Willie) Jones of McKinney, TX, Marcia (Frank) Bell of Nashville, TN, and Renee’ (Eric) Westley of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, James Williams; two sisters, Ollie “BB” Hale and Mary Edwards of Danville, IL; a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Catha of West Memphis, AR; a brother-in-law, Arthur Harris of Dallas, TX; Nineteen grandchildren, Jason Calloway, Tyrone Bell, Lagina Westley-Patterson, Javier Colemen, Jeremie Bell, Yanick Goens, Amber Bell, Justin Calloway, Victoria Calloway-Solano, Christopher Jones, Eric Westley Jr., Adrianna Dandridge-Calloway, Jalen Westley, Ra’ven Jones, Jordan Bell, Janae Bell, Va’Cherri Calloway, Amanda Aguilar, and Valarrii Calloway; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special niece, Bessie Nelson of Danville, IL; and, a host of relatives and friends.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Calloway Jr.; son, Mose Calloway III; parents; brother, Will Lee Williams; sister, Dora Fisher; daughter-in-law, Carmitta Coleman; and, a special niece, Beverly Williams.
Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday August 5, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Eulogist: Elder Ezzard Coleman. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A Public viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
