Leroy Adams was born December 24, 1952 in Danville, IL and transitioned from this life in the comfort of his home on May 18, 2023. He attended Danville schools and graduated from Danville High School where he participated in football and wrestling. Leroy was a member of Hope Unlimited Church and previously attended Union Missionary Baptist Church.
He married the love of his life Brenda "Chapman" Adams in Danville, IL where they spent the last 36 years of their lives together. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, Brenda "Chapman" Adams; his daughters: Tiffany Davis of Killeen, TX, Ashley Adams, and Lanique McClendon, both of Danville, IL Sherron Blanden of Paducah, KY, his son Sherard (Cynthia) Blanden of Danville, IL. His grandchildren: Cartica, Mia, Brendan, Angelo, Angenique, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Jayden, Izaiah, Gabriel, Janih, Jailee, Kylie, Caden, Cameron, Khylin, Wednesday. His sisters; Leola "Lynn" Smith, Anna Adams, Mary Marlene Adams, Mamie "Mickie" Adams. The family matriarch Bernice Johnson. A host of nieces and nephews, whom he helped raise, and his special sidekicks, nephew-Corey Adams, and brother-in-law Donald Chapman.
Leroy enjoyed playing cards and fishing, and also had a special love for riding motorcycles, he was a leading and devoted member of the Untouchables Motorcycle Club. Throughout his life Leroy gained many hobbies such as, mowing lawns with his Big Red Mowing Company, and endlessly working on his garage door with his grandsons. Leroy proudly retired from General Motors in 1998, after about 30 years of service.
Leroy was preceded in death by both his parents John and Isabel Adams, brothers Joe Willie Adams and Clowzell Adams. His sisters Lilly Adams and Mary Dabney, and his mother-in-law Dorothy Chapman.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday May 26, 2023 at Hope Unlimited Church 428 N. Walnut, Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Ryan Harris. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until time of the service. Burial will follow after at Springhill Cemetery.
