Leona "Jean" Williams Duckworth

Leona Williams-Duckworth (Jean) was born in Danville, Illinois, on July 17, 1965, to the late Clara Mae Williams and Rufus Williams. Wednesday, September 20, 2023, she made her move to heaven.

Jean married her best friend Edward Duckworth in May 2014, but they have been together for almost four decades. They were blessed with two lovely sons and four beautiful daughters.

Jean was a delight to be around; she could certainly illuminate a room. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, visiting casinos, and playing the lottery. She also enjoyed watching her stories, but she cherished time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren the most.

Her family and friends would comment that they enjoyed being in her presence. She was a kind, always-listening, always-opening-her-door, always-smiling, always-laughing, and extremely entertaining individual who will be sorely missed.

Jean is survived by her husband Edward Duckworth and six children: Tequilla Williams (Atlanta, GA), Denisha Williams (Champaign, IL), late Lakawana Williams, Edward Duckworth Jr (Rantoul, IL), and Felisha Combs (San Diego, CA); six brothers: Elder Bruce M. Hampton (Indianapolis, IN), Timmy Williams (Rantoul, IL), Shawn Williams (Boston, Ma), Eddie Ward (S

Jean's parents, daughter, brother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law all predeceased her.

 A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 noon Friday October 6, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Eulogist: Bobby R. Keys Sr. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
