Our beloved Mother Ledora Johnson was born July 27, 1939, to the late Ernest and Rosie Pickle in Leland, Mississippi. She departed her earthly
being on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Carle Hospital, Urbana, surrounded by
Her loving family. In the year 1965,she met the love of her life Arthur L. Johnson Sr. they were united in holy matrimony for 44 years. Arthur passed away on October 1, 2009.
Ledora gave her life to Christ at a young age. She lived and exemplified a Christian life. She instilled the same Christian values into her family and was an epitome of a woman of Holiness. Ledora loved the Lord and served as a Mother at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
During her period of employment, she worked for the University of Illinois, at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.Upon her retirement she spent her life dedicated to her husband Arthur Lee, and her children.Her love for family was unconditional. Ledora will be remembered for her beautiful smile
and wearing her beautiful hats on Sunday morning. Ledora fought a good fight to stay with her family, but God needed her to come home. She truly
exhibited the qualities of a Godly Woman. Her legacy of love for her family will remain present in our minds and hearts forever.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sons; Howard Pickle, Alfounce Moore, Terry Moore, Michael Moore, Jerry Johnson, James Johnson and Marcus Johnson, sisters Ernestine Davis, Mae Exum and Joann Burks. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kenneth J. Moore, daughter, Dorelee Moore, sisters, Bertha Frazier, Kathleen Parks and Jerry Pickle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 1, 2023 12:00 noon at Pilgrim MBC. Eulogist: Pastor Rickey E Parks. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at Mt Hope Cemetery at 1:30.
